As soon as I got this for my birthday, I quickly switched everything over from my work bag to this bag. The fabric is perfect for my commute (train, bus, walking through the city) and this bag is big enough for me to toss my netbook, umbrella, and extra pair of shoes in the big section. I love all the extra pockets which is very helpful - just wish that they had a place for me to put my pens, too.

I love my new messenger bag. It has plenty of room for tons of books, and the clips make it easy to carry around alot of stuff. It is extremely durable and doesn't seem like it has worn at all. The only thing I would have wanted more was some more pockets for stuff like pens and small devices.

I bought this bag primarily to bike commute to work. I had shopped around for a couple weeks looking for the "perfect" commuter bag, and this one met most of my criteria. First of all, it has an external water bottle pouch, a padded back, a waist belt, and a padded shoulder strap. The organizer is straightforward and durable. The laptop area is well-padded and secure. There is plenty of room for a change of clothes, shoes, and lunchbag. The soft velvety ipod pockets will keep your cell phone or electronics safe from scratches. The only thing it is lacking is any type of reflective material to draw motorist's eyes to a cylcist, but I plan to add my own. Overall, it is an excellent bag. I did buy mine on closeout, so it was a super deal as far as money spent. I bought it in Large, and it still fits my 5'3" frame very comfortably. I would definitely recommend this bag to anyone who wanted a comfortable, durable, convenient bike commuter bag.

This is a very nice bag with a large compartment for ur stinky gym shoes. Which is what I use it for. The shoe compartment is the same size as bag and gose under the main clothing storage compartment. Its very heavy durrable material outside. Even has air holes on the shoe comparment. Its a very nice gym bag.

I'm a business traveller, on the road almost every week, and I use this as my carry on. Because I'm a bit of a gadget geek, 99% of the time it just has electronic components, and a set of emergency clothes. Additionally, as an IT consultant and trainer, I often travel with more than one laptop. I use the main compartment to carry both laptops and accessories (using padded neoprene bags to protect the laptops themselves) and the day bag for a portable DVD player, snacks, magazines/newspapers and other sundries. I rarely have to check the main bag (and usually its a gate check on smaller aircraft), which fits fine in most overhead bins. The day bag goes under the seat in front of me for easy access to the DVD player, magazines, etc.

All-in-all this is a great bag, and when it falls apart, I will probably replace it with the same make and model (assuming they still make it!).

I actually bought this at the store and I tried the different sizes and medium is actually pretty big but it is just right because packing an extra change of clothing would not be a worry. The mesh pockets on the side are always used because I use it sometimes for swim and I separate my wet stuff from my wallet and cellphone. It has a great build and the shoulder strap is very comfortable and the small duffel does not have a padded shoulder strap so that also made me go with the medium. I am satisfied because it serves multiple purposes. I would also add that I bought it on sale at a nike store for less so look around for the best price.

This is an extremely large duffel and it is very well made. It hold a tremendous amount of gear. I like the fact that it has a shoulder strap along with the hand straps. This holds so much gear that a small person like myself needs every hold she can get to handle something like this. I use it mostly to carry sports gear and usually have help loading and unloading it. I ordered the largest size.

Empty, it actually folds down into a pretty small package which make for easy storing. I certainly cannot complain about the price on this thing and feel I got my monies worth.

Excellent Laptop Backpack for Bike ride, March 29, 2009

Pros: I bought this bag after researching through many different ones. I was looking for something that was cheap, yet stylish and functional, and it fits all of those and have been using it for almost 3 months now. I ride my bike to work everyday and sometimes have to carry my Laptop. The laptop sleeve, the padding and the front straps make it extremely easy on my shoulders and there is still a lot of space left for my gym clothes etc. I have taken this bag on hikes and snowboarding. The material is water resistant enough to keep my stuff dry.

Cons: Comparing to my previous backpack, the number of pockets are not as many. The small strap on the top is not padded, so its not comfortable to carry in one hand. The shoulder straps are solid foam design and not the mesh type, which even though comfortable does not allow for a lot of ventilation.

Haven't yet used the feature to attach a Hydration pack.

It's always hard to tell the specs of a product on-line but I decided to take a gamble on ordering this dufflepack after reading other favorable reviews. I must admit, this is a great find! It's just the right size for a weekend getaway and has a lot of fun compartments and a variety of ways to carry (handles, strap or as a backpack). It also comes stored in a nice case with matching material so when you're not using it, it's easy to stuff inside and store away. The case can also be used for storing various items such as bottles, meds and whatever else you may want to put inside while traveling. Highly recommend this product! Great color/pattern as well. Can't wait to put it to good use.

I got my first Timbuk2 (large classic messenger) back in college, and it's about 3 years old now. Still going strong and getting better with age i.e less stiff, more seasoned look and feel. Timbuk2 makes amazing bags in a wide range of designs, and the classic messenger is, in my opinion, the best of the lot.

I own a large sized classic messenger, and it carries everything I need to bring around (lots of junk) and more. The only thing that you have to be careful is not to be too happy tossing stuff in, only to realise that the bag is just wayyyy to heavy to lug around without causing sore shoulders/back. A strap pad is essential if you're carrying anything larger than a medium-sized classic messenger.

These bags are sturdy, practical (very well-designed pockets, slots, keyrings etc) and look good to boot. I've also got a small classic messenger and a large cargo tote that I bought for my mom who complained about her other bags not having enough compartments (typical women's purses) or being too small to hold all her stuff in an organized way.

While Crumpler bags are also an alternative in a similar price range, Timbuk2 bags seem more suited for serious messenger bag users, while Crumpler bags are more like casual, fashion accessories.

All in all, I seriously recommend Timbuk2 bags for their design and durability. Go Timbuk2!

This bag is ultra tough! With more pockets and compartments than I could dream of, I was shocked to find a whole new hidden one two weeks after buying the bag and walking around with it everyday. I take it everywhere with me, especially to work. It is tough, durable and withstands the beatings I put it through. Great quality, I can fit my laptop or a ton of files and books. There's a perfect pocket for an ipod, cigarettes, tons of pens, cell phone. Anything you need to stash in this bag, there's a place for it. I love it and get compliments on it all the time.

I bought this bag initially to help me carry all my engenieering and school stuff during summer when I'm doing self study and don't need the whole backpack. Its so convienant I've ended up packing a lot more into it than I had originally intended on doing. To give you an idea of how well it can expand to fit almost everything you could ever need, I've got:
1 Laptop
2 math books
3 novels
2 pencils
2 pens
2 graphing note books
1 pack of smokes and a lighter
2 pencil sharpeners
1 calculator

That setup has it filled pretty much to its maxium capacity lol. The material seems to be great, I waited over a month to write this review to see if any tears or breaks would show up, and so far, none have.

For those guys who want one, but are afraid of the "murse" (man purse) status, rest assured the plain black with nothing shiny or 'loud' muffle any comments. All I really have to say about that argument is Convenience > Insecurites :)

That being said, all in all, I'm hard press to find a flaws. Now if only it could magically make everything in it lighter . . .
